Lighting decisions

Of course we will use lighting to connote things to the audience so at different times we will use this technique, we decided to use a mix of Low Key and High Key lighting to make some sequences and shots seem quite depressing which would help to convey the feelings of the character. The interchange would occur between scenes and be dependent on the time of day and general emotion set for that scene. For example: A night time scene with feelings of desperations - Low Key. Sunrise with feelings of hope - High Key.

To add onto Lighting, we will use Coloured gel filters (likely orange and blue) to add or take away warmth from certain scenes. This goes on to add more meaning to how the character is feeling. Blue and magenta colours are slow, calm and sorrowful; while orange and red are fast, angry and vigorous. Negative Fill will help to add contrast to scenes filmed during the day. Due to the certainty of large clouds diffusing sunlight occurring during Production, Negative Fill (as it has been coined here) will help to highlight the character and make her stand out from the background should the natural lighting be overcast.
